Ed has been an SCCA racer/member since the late 80’s. For over 20 years Ed has been a fixture in our club. For the last 10 years he has set the bar in Spec Miata performance. Ed provides at track support to Spec Miata racers in the Southwest Division, helping front runners as well as back markers improve their standings. In the recent wild fires of Bastrop Ed lost his home; luckily Ed had recently opened a shop in Del Valle separating his home from business. However the devastation is insurmountable and the loss is unimaginable. A life’s worth of memories lost. Please contribute as your heart leads you.

Chad was brought into the club by Brent McNaul a few years ago. Chad has worked his way up from a novice corner worker to a Lone Star Region corner captain, making his fellow region members proud. Chad always has a smile on his face and has taken this tragedy in stride. He was happy to find a wedding ring, a class ring, and his Lone Star Region Leatherman Tool in the ashes of his house.

The area affected by the massive fires is an estimated area 25 miles long and 20 miles wide. Over 1,500 homes destroyed in a few days. Several SCCA member's and families in the Lone Star Region lost their homes and most of their possessions. They fled the fires with the shirts on their back and whatever they could grab before the flames arrived.
