Attendees
- Bill Johnson
- Greg LaKomski
- Gregg Matocha
Thanks to Bill Johnson for letting us use his shop for the meeting.
Old Business
Question of whether Madeline Averitt would be interested in participating
with race chairmanship. Still not clear but feeling was that she might
be able to help with a piece of the puzzle that she enjoyed. Gregg will
keep talking to her about it.
Fall Event
Decided to give up on fall event and go for a spring event
Round Table
Decided that Nick owns the planning for this event and that Dave and
Busters would be OK.
Xmas Party
Currently at Nick's house but if Susan Baylon could get us the trophies
at the right time than we could also make the xmas party the awards
banquet which needs to be at a bigger location. Gregg was going to call
Susan and figure out exactly when we will get the trophies.
New Business
Election Planning
Darrell has had no response as of the meeting date for nominations.
(editors note - I realized that the Draft says that a nomination must
be signed by three members - this is not in the best interest of getting
people to run for office since it takes a lot more effort. I will raise
this at the next meeting. GL)
Greg L and Nick had gone through the list of Lone Star names and parsed
out those who looked like they would be good candidates - representing
a good constituency or having experience. LaKomski will email the list
to Gregg and Bill and get their assistance in calling.
Also - we determined that both the RE, ARE, and Secretary as well as
Bill Johnson and two Directors positions need to be filled. Nick, Greg,
and Bill indicated they will run again. The Matochas will participate
(maybe we should just elect both of them and create a flex position)
so we really need two director candidates.
Steve Lawrence was identified as a possible worker rep and LaKomski
was requested to call Tom Dalrymple.
The question also came up as to when Patrick was elected. LaKomski
will ask.
We need to have names together by the 25th of October but are trying
to get names by 9th. The ballots need to be out as of the 1st of Nov.
and the election meeting needs to held around the 13th.
Logo
Discussion has been ongoing over the Lonestar region logo, the changes
that were made to the logo during the revamping of the website, and
the process or lack thereof that Nick and Greg used to make these changes.
Gregg M., who likes the old logo, has asked for a process that would
include members submitting ideas and the membership voting on the logo.
We did not have enough of the board there to vote on doing so but seems
like a good idea. We will take this up at the next meeting. For those
interested, the "new" logo is the one on the first page of
the website.
